Dr. Buck is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
He received his Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at
the University of Rochester, New York

Dr. Gates graduated from Duke University School of Medicine, where
he completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency. He
completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and
was an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Ponec graduated from Stanford University, and earned his Medical
Degree at the University of Southern California. His Internal Medicine
training was at UCLA. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship
training at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1997.

Dr. Schultheiss earned his Medical Degree from the University of
Illinois. His Internal Medicine training was at Oregon Health Sciences
University. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the
University of Utah in 1989.

Dr. Em is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine. He did his residency and was chief resident
in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Dr.
Em has special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, therapeutic
Endoscopy and liver diseases.

Dr. Kao graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia. She completed her internal medicine residency training and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Vermont.

Daniel C. Butler PA-C is a graduate of University of Iowa College of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, where he completed both his physician assistant certification and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to admission to the Physician Assistant program, Mr. Butler received a Master’s of Science degree from Colorado State University in Human Anatomy and Physiology. Mr. Butler had 7 years experience in primary care medicine prior to joining SGC.
